Formerly played as the Buick Invitational onthe China LPGA tour in 2014, the tournament had made a big step up in becomingco-sanctioned with the Ladies European Tour for the first time in 2015, with aninternational field of competitors from 22 countries and regions, increasedtotal prize money of USD $600,000 (for both the individual and team eventscombined).
10th May 2016, Shanshan Feng shrugged off a double bogey on the first hole in her final round and strode to a six stroke victory in the Buick Championship at Shanghai Qizhong Garden GolfClub in China.
